Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need an appointment for skate sharpening?
Appointments are recommended during peak times to reduce wait times. Walk-ins may be available depending on demand.
What skate sharpening system do you use?
We use the Sparx Sharpener 3 Pro for consistent, repeatable sharpening across multiple skate types.
Do you sharpen hockey, goalie, and figure skates?
Yes. We sharpen hockey, goalie, and figure skates, and we carry a variety of grinding rings, including figure skate options.
Can I choose my hollow / sharpening preference?
Yes. We offer multiple hollow options so your sharpening can match your comfort, skating style, and level of play.
How long does skate sharpening take?
Sharpening typically takes 10–15 minutes per pair, depending on volume and hollow selection. During busy periods, wait times may be longer, and you’ll be notified when skates are ready.
What is the Sani Sport system?
Sani Sport is a professional ozone-based sanitation system designed to reduce odour-causing microbes and bacteria inside sports equipment.
What items can be sanitized?
Most protective equipment can be sanitized, including helmets, gloves, pads, and skates. If you’re unsure about an item, ask in-store.
Is the sanitation process safe for gear?
Yes. The process uses ozone without heat, water, or harsh chemicals, making it safe for most protective sports gear.
How often should gear be sanitized?
For frequent use, sanitizing once or twice per season helps reduce odour and microbial buildup. Used/shared gear may benefit from sanitation at the time of purchase or exchange.
How long does gear sanitation take?
A Sani Sport sanitation cycle typically takes approximately 20–30 minutes, depending on the equipment being treated and load size.
What do you mean by “Inventory Support”?
Inventory support means help finding the right gear: sport-specific recommendations, sizing guidance, and alternatives at different price points (new and used).
Do you carry both new and used equipment?
Yes. We focus on providing quality new and used gear to help keep sport more accessible.
Do you help with sizing and fit?
Yes. We help families and athletes choose properly fitting gear for comfort, safety, and performance—especially useful for youth athletes and first-time buyers.
How does trade-in work?
Bring in used equipment and we’ll assess it based on condition, safety, and demand. Eligible items may qualify for ReSport Credits or cash.
What kinds of items do you accept for trade-in?
We accept a wide range of sports equipment, but all items must meet basic condition and safety standards. (Full details can live on your Buy/Sell/Trade page.)
What small equipment services do you offer in-store?
We offer practical, low-cost help such as cage/visor installs, chin strap replacement, lace replacement, helmet adjustments/fit checks, minor hardware fixes, and stick cutting.
Can I bring gear in just for an adjustment?
Yes—these services are available whether you bought equipment from ReSport or elsewhere (subject to parts availability and safety).
What payment methods do you accept for services?
We accept cash, debit, credit, and e-transfer. ReSport Credits earned through our trade-in program can also be used toward eligible services.
Do you offer service support through your youth access program?
Yes. ReSport is developing a community-based youth access initiative intended to help reduce barriers to sport participation, which may include access to equipment and select services for youth in need. Details and eligibility will be shared as the program develops. Families and organizations are welcome to contact us for more information.
