TRADE-IN PROGRAM

Keep Gear in the Game

ReSport’s trade-in program helps keep quality sports equipment circulating within the community — making sport more affordable and more accessible for families and youth.

Bring in gently used gear and receive either ReSport Credit (recommended) or a cash offer, depending on condition and demand.

How Trade In Works

Bring in Your Equipment

Bring your clean, gently used sports equipment to ReSport for assessment.

We accept a wide range of sports gear, subject to condition, safety standards, and current demand.

Equipment Assessment

Each item is reviewed based on:

  • Overall condition

  • Structural integrity

  • Safety standards

  • Cleanliness

  • Market demand

Not all items will qualify.
Final acceptance is at ReSport’s discretion.

To help determine condition and value, we use the following grading system:
This system guides how items are evaluated and valued for trade-in offers.
Choose Your Payout Option

If accepted, you may receive:

ReSport Credit (Higher Value)

Credit offers greater value than cash and can be used toward:

  • Skate sharpening

  • Gear sanitation

  • Equipment adjustments

  • Used equipment purchases

Choosing credit helps keep equipment accessible within the community.

Cash Offer

Cash offers may be available depending on item type and condition. Cash values are lower than credit values.

ReSport Credit may be used immediately or saved for future use.

Why We Incentivize Credit

Our goal is to keep quality gear in circulation and lower the overall cost of sport participation.

When customers choose credit, it allows:

  • More affordable resale pricing

  • Sustainable inventory flow

  • Community reinvestment

  • Reduced equipment waste

This model supports long-term accessibility for youth and families.

TRADE IN FAQ

How does the ReSport Trade In Program Work?
Bring in clean, gently used equipment for assessment. If accepted, you may receive ReSport Credit (higher value) or a cash offer, depending on condition and demand.

Why is ReSport Credit worth more than cash?
Credit keeps equipment circulating within the community and supports affordability. Because it is reinvested into services or purchases at ReSport, we are able to offer a higher value than cash payouts.

How do you determine trade-in value?
Value is based on condition, safety, functionality, and current demand. We use a grading system (A–V) to assess equipment consistently and fairly.

What does your grading system mean?
A — New / Like New: equipment is essentially unused or in pristine condition.
B — Excellent: lightly used items showing minimal wear with no functional issues.
C — Good: used equipment with normal wear but still fully functional and safe.
D — Used: heavily used items that may need minor repair but remain serviceable.
V — Vintage / wall hanger: older items with limited functional use; may be of interest to collectors or decorative purposes but not suitable for active play.

Grade influences resale value and trade-in offer.

Can I choose cash instead of credit?
Yes, when available. Cash offers are lower than credit offers.

Does my credit expire?
ReSport Credit policies will be confirmed at launch. Details will be shared prior to opening.

Can I use my credit immediately?
Yes. Credit may be applied the same day or saved for future purchases and services.

Do you offer extra value for using credit immediately?
ReSport Credit already offers higher value than cash. Any additional promotional incentives for same-day use will be announced if available.

What items do you accept?
We typically accept gently used sports equipment including hockey, skating, soccer, lacrosse, baseball, and other protective gear. Acceptance depends on condition, safety standards, and demand.

What items will you not accept?
For safety and liability reasons, we may decline cracked helmets, structurally compromised gear, mold-affected equipment, or items that do not meet safety standards.

Do items need to be cleaned before trade-in?
Clean gear is strongly preferred and increases the likelihood of acceptance. Items with excessive dirt, mold, mildew, or strong odor may be declined. Minor wear is acceptable and may be addressed during sanitation.

Can I trade in equipment that needs repair?
Possibly. Some items in Grade D condition may be accepted if they can be safely repaired or restored.

Is tax applied when using ReSport Credit?
Yes. Applicable taxes apply to purchases after credit is applied.

Do I need identification for trade-in?
Valid government ID may be required for cash transactions.

Can youth trade in equipment?
Minors may require a parent or guardian present for trade-in transactions involving payment.

Why does ReSport offer a trade-in program?
Our trade-in model reduces equipment waste, lowers costs for families, and supports youth access to sport by keeping quality gear in circulation within the community.

Do I need identification for trade-in?
Identification may be required for cash payouts. For credit transactions, customers may be asked to provide contact information for account verification.

How is my ReSport Credit stored?
ReSport Credit is stored securely under your customer account and can be accessed using your name and contact information at checkout.
